Sea House (2003)

In a house filled with water, a man tells the story of what the sea took from him and what he found while he was looking for it. Sea House was designed by Simon Daw, written by Alistair Gentry and performed by Jake Oldershaw. Devised and installed by all three artists in June of 2003 for the beach at the 56th Aldeburgh Festival, Suffolk, UK.

The smaller yellow tubes visible protruding from the beach in some of the pictures (e.g. installation view, above right and picture 06, below) were used to distribute the sound.

Featured on Resonance FM, June 2003. Alistair performed a version of 'Sea House' on Bridport beach, Dorset, to mark the end of the Labculture symposium in September 2003.
